Hi everyone, I hope you enjoy this weeks's edition of the Global Express, where the theme, thanks to Daphne's suggestion, is Save the Panet which includes Recycling. You will find a host of information on the Special Interest Page, as well as throughout the newsletter.
I do have a huge apology to make to all of you, our faithful readers. First of all, apparently the dark colors were very difficult, for many of you to see/read, so I promise I will make absolutely sure that doesn't happen in the future.
More importantly, I inadvertently mixed up all the links making it next to impossible to find the various pages.
I'm pretty sure that isn't the case this week.
I will be publishing the October Trivia Pages next week, and as October is Breast Cancer awareness month, there will be a section devoted to that. If you or anyone you know has a Breast Cancer story to share, please send it it to me ar patriciamacmicken@hotmail.com or Sharon, at sharongreene@shaw.ca, and I will be publishing them in the weeks to come during October.
And now an important meesage from Daphne:
Hello Everyone, I would just like to remind you that our Wildlife Photo Contest - that was on hold for travel reasons - is now open again. We have quite a variety of wildlife represented already, and I hope I have already included the pictures previously sent in :
http://www.angelfire.com/me5/planetkryzys/wildlife/ We have plenty of room to accept more and the contest is open until 1st November after which voting will start. This is Members' own ( or close friends and family) not Internet pictures.
Thank you, and look forward to seeing what you can "shoot" Daphne

From Pat's Journal this week:
Welcome Wagon is an organization whose mission is to greet new homeowners as they relocate, to acquaint them with their neighborhood and to market the products and services of local businesses.
The Welcome Wagon "hostess" visits families in their new home with a basket containing small gifts and coupons from contributing businesses.
Yesterday, my Welcome Wagon hostess Diana, visited me and brought me many useful items, as well as a number of gift cards for free gifts, discounts and introductory services.
Pens, fridge magnets and notepads, sample bath salts, soup mixes and catalogues were among the many things she gave me.
Also included were a free makeover, a free haircut, discounts at a spa. Intriductory services from Financial investors, a lawyer, and a computer evaluation.
I also recived some free issues of the local TV week, and a discounted rate for the local newspaper.
Proabably, the most interesting, and given the theme of this week's newsletter, some very useful information regarding recycling and saving our planet which you can find on the special Interest Page.
More and more I am convinced I made the right decision in deciding to re-locate here.
This town, Crofton, is remimicent of the old time towns, where everyone knew everyone, and always willing to lend a hand. I have not met anyone, anywhere who doesn't offer me a sincerely friendly greeting.
And, this morning, on our walk, my friend Rita told me the nicest, most heartwarming thing, I have every been told in my entire life.
We were discussing how much we enjoy are walks every morning, and she said, she had prayed to find someone to walk with her. And that somone is me!
Wow! Imagine that, being the answer to someone's prayer!
